Two 15 year old sophomores were found dead the morning of Friday the 12th, near an isolated area of campus near the administration building. Each victim was found with a single sustained gunshot wound, laying next to one another dead. About 2,000 students attend the school, Glendale Union High School District. Parents worrying "Oh my god, it could have been my daughter". Said parent.

Texas teen, Ethan Couch was given probation for killing four people for a drunk driving crash.
The judge ordered Couch out of juvenile detention last friday. With a notorious high profile, it could be risky since someone could try and hurt him.  The teen is now serving ten years probation for the killing of four people and injuring se verbal others in 2013.

- Waris Ahluwalia refused to remove his turban during a security check to the U.S, so they did not allow to board an airplane in Mexico City. He said it was a "symbol of my faith" just as his beard are considered articles of faith. "It is something that I wear whenever I am in public." After the situation was resolved an apology was given and the airline took steps to train its staff about the Sikh religion.

 1. She wrote its a beautiful day and I can't see it.

 2. It made me feel really sad, because the world is such a beautiful place and if you are just unable to see the true beauty of it then what is left is just hearing.

 3. I think to show us to one, to be kind to others, especially the disabled. And two what other people will have to go to for the rest of their life and how grateful you should be to have the ability to see and hear things. But also how just changing words, or rewording can make such an impact on a what you are trying to portray in your writing.

4. To say something that will actually get them interested in reading the paper. Not many people enjoy reading but write or say something that will interest the to actually read it.

13. THAT DEADLINES WILL EITHER MAKE YOU OR BREAK YOU. That is literally one of the most important things, as well as making sure whatever you sign up for, that you can take it. So do not pile a bunch of things on yourself especially if you are a busy person and are involved in many things. Its not fun to be stressed out worrying about the paper so go and help others especially if you are not doing anything because there is always something we can do to fix the paper and get it to more pages. And the more we get done together the less everyone is stressed and the less Mr. Reeves is on the class. 

14. I can make sure to plan ahead and think more about my schedule to ensure that i can help the paper to be the best that i know it can be with all these amazing writers in this class. As well as trying to sign up for more things if i know i can get on it. And to get on my deadlines a lot better. As well as trying to get the word requirement more up there so it will save energy and time for the editors to get their pages done on time. Also it will make the paper look a lot better if i get more words in so we can be up there with the really good newspapers.

15. It would be nice if we could get those pad things for art pieces to make the art look better and also to get the process to a lot faster. And i would know that doing art is a little bit challenging on the computer so if we had those they would probably make things easier. And  one thing i thought i would like to do is write more commentary pieces. And i would like to take some pictures, but i don't know if i would be able to some times since i do not have a car, and my schedule is sometimes over the place since we are going to transition into the season for lacrosse. 

Biography

I’m Amaya Marquez, I am a sophomore, and this is my first year on the newspaper staff. I joined newspaper to try something new, meet new people, and of course to take pictures. I enjoy baking, and playing lacrosse. I am on the Bowie women’s Varsity team as well as the Outlaws travel team. I inspire to be a professional baker, and to have my own bakery when I’m older. One thing I am excited to see in the future in Newspaper is to see if i will like it enough to pursue through the rest of high school.

Since Bowie has decided to upgrade a bit of the little things it makes a little easier to be on time, and ready for class. Bowie has upgraded the old regular clocks, so it makes reading the clock a lot more easier for some people. A new thing that most people are happy about is arriving at school later. Even though it may seem like only ten minutes, though that can make a difference for some people.

As well as something that might help the incoming freshmen, a map of all the halls and wings of the school. So it is right there if you need a refresher of the halls. Another thing that had to change up is the bell schedule now that the students will arrive at 9:00, pretty much the entire schedule will change up.

So far, things in women's soccer is going pretty well, but one thing that bothers Michaela Amaral is having to share a locker with three other girls, which may get a little too cramped for some people. Practice for football may be going well from what we only see from the guys on the field, but the games have begun. The first game when on last Friday, that had the crowd going wild.

HDR Photography

1. What manipulations to the camera will you need to make to create an HDR image?

AEB isn't 100 percent necessary, but without it you'll have to adjust your camera settings manually between each shot taken.

2. What equipment will we use to take this type of image?

- Camera, with an Auto Exposure Bracketing function
- Tripod
- HDR photo-blending software

3. What is the reason someone might take an HDR image?

- They would want to try to attempt to get a picture where it looks as close as it can in detail to what the human eye can see. The human eye sees the most details, so trying to capture it with a photo.


4. What can we expect to happen with the images once we merge them together, what will we see that we might not have seen with just one photo?

- They would probably look at bit hazy, and not like a very clear photo. It might look a bit more sharper with one photo, rather than merging them together to get that hazy effect.

So what i observed from watching it for the first time, was kinda confusing so there was a woman who seemed to be getting ready for her wedding.Then there was a man in a car, and he seemed really determined to go somewhere. There were so many times when something was stopping him from going to where he was needed. Which was on his wedding day, he needed to get to the wedding on time and was driving really fast. So when he made it to the church he ran in thinking that the bride was waiting fro him, but turned out she was marring another man?

So what I observed the second time was that there was a woman with a happy face on, and was having her dress on her just getting ready. And then there is this other guy who is in a hurry trying to go somewhere. There are so many obstacles preventing him from join somewhere and when he finally makes it to the church he sees a woman getting married to some man.

Story:

On the day of October 16th, 2010, it was a gloomy rainy day. The wedding day of Rachel Green and Ross Giller. Rachel was getting all dressed up and with a happy face as the veil was being put on her head. But Ross was running a little late.

"I was over at my buddies, and overslept.I hopped in my car and I was driving as fast as I could."
Ross said

Ross was getting anxiety hoping to make it on time.

"Aww man, I need to hurry, no, no, no no!" (train passes in front of car)

Ross started to scream and shout with anger upon his face. He wished he went the other way he usually goes when driving with Rachel.

" I finally made it and pulled up to the church, jumped out of my car and ran up the stairs."

He ran as fast as he could and opened the doors with relief.

"I'm here! I'm here!, I--I,"

Ross' face dropped with sadness, it seems that it wasn't his wedding day. But it was Rachel and Chandlers Wedding. Chandler winked at Ross. 

"I got this one" Chandler said

Final Exam Preview Assignment

1. I read about all the skills I would most likely need in order to complete a movie. And it showed with pictures step by step how to do it. Which was very helpful, in order for me to succeed in this project.

2. I already knew that you could trim out specific things that you don't want, when making your "movie". Just to select the clip you want to trim, and to hold with the left click. After the yellow boarder is around the part you don't want anymore you let go of the left click, and then its gone.

3. There is something called an Event Library, and Project Timeline. And they may look the same but they do different things, and just that you cannot edit in the Event Library workspace.

4. That all my pictures are good enough to go through my slideshow. And just to make sure I do not mess up with iMovie, by being careful with what I choose to do so the final product will be good.

5. Some of my pictures, being ready to edit them good.

6. I would already know what I would do. I would do the whole day of me getting ready for the day of my Quincenera, and me at the party. What I did, and how everything looked on that day.

Part 1:

General focus: Living life as an old person

Problems :
- most important part is out of focus
- too much going on
- Same type just different angles


Judges liked:
- everything needed to know in the picture was there (old man w/ cannula)
- some had amused them

I didn't really like her style of photography, it was pretty plain nothing that really got my attention. Or that made me want to see more of her work.

General focus: Not just one focus, mostly about the people in the wheel chairs

Problems:
- needed a better angle
- had a dead look to it, boring all secondary pictures. Their was no emotion, that drew them in
- could have cropped it better

Judges liked:
- some gave a little laugh
- different faces in it

I thought their were a couple of pictures that were really good,  but then some just were no point in even taking a picture because it had no point. It seemed like he just needed a photo and took that. I didn't really like it that much.

General focus: Eating disorder

Problems:
- not feeling the love or the pain the person is going through
- each picture almost the similar lens, feel, scene setters
- not enough strong singles

Judges liked:
- beautiful background, and the blue pastels
- seeing the girl with just her, and being able to see her legs (she's the main focus)

I thought the pictures were okay, but there were definitely at least two that i thought were really good, but it seemed like the photographer tried to capture feeling in the beginning but it just didn't work out like they hoped. It was okay I wasn't the biggest fan.

- capturing good focus on the main subject
- capturing whats important, no side trash
- they thought the subjects were interesting

Part 5: RUGBYTECH, i loved the way it looks in black and white, and the details from the dirt, and the hair coming out of his helmet. I like the way, its kinda rustic looking. The judges didn't say  much bout this picture but they just said is "God I love that picture" and I would agree with them on that.

Strader Jackson, Bowie high school’s March Student of the Month gave us answers to why he received this month’s award. An award like this, isn’t so hard for a freshman like him. He doesn’t need to work so hard to get where he is now.

Not that surprising, coming from Student of the Month receiver,

“ I take all AP classes, ” Strader said.

We asked what does it take in order to receive an award like this “ Time, energy, and swag ” Strader said.

I asked freshman, Strader was it a challenge for him to become Student of the Month? And he said “Not really, because I’m better than everyone”

Now I had to ask, just to help out any kids interested in wanting to be student of the Month. Do you have any tips or tricks for getting good grades? “ Cheating, its easy to do ”

So Strader never really had a problem with school, or not many struggles overcoming anything to receive this award, by cheating and “ Having my parents taze me” really influences Strader to study hard and get good grades. He received $20,000 from his parents for receiving this title and award. But one of the worst things is “ Getting caught cheating.” Strader said.

For this student of the Month, his career goal is to become a “ movie star because I like to act ” but needing to keep those grades up so this athlete can continue to play basketball.

In conclusion, if you don’t get caught cheating, feel highly confident in your self, and believe in yourself, you can win the award of Student of the Month easily.

Lacey Spears, was trailed for killing her own son. Spears has Munchausen syndrome, which is where those who are affected in feign illness to draw attention, sympathy, or reassurance to themselves.
